The problem with warts (a tiny rough unsightly tumor) is they can grow almost anywhere on the body including inside the mouth and genitals but are most usually seen on the hands and feet. Some people are more likely to get warts than others in an these instances they can even catch them form using the towel of someone who has them but any skin contact could mean they will be passed on.
Even though genital warts are like most other warts, do not cause any pain (except warts on the areas of the foot where you apply pressure when walking) but are nonetheless highly contagious and can be contracted during any type of sexual act. Unfortunately for women, they may have genital warts on their cervix for some time until their doctor gives them a routine examination; the warts inside the vagina may go unnoticed even for years.
Broken areas of skin are more susceptible to warts as the virus has easy access and they can spread when picked at by children although they do not generally cause any problems other than how they appear to others so it isn?t always necessary to get rid of them. Treatment of warts is generally carried out owing to the adverse cosmetic affect they have but it isn?t a bad idea if they become a persistent problem. Although many people by preparations to remove warts and verrucas, others will go to their doctor who treat them with liquid nitrogen; however, this treatment does take more than one application.

The human papillomavirus family of viruses which cause warts is actually quite large despite most people perception that all warts are fairly similar. There are more than 100 types of human papillomavirus viruses; some types of human papillomavirus tend to cause warts on the skin, while other types focus on the genitals and rectal area.
Some people are more naturally resistant to the human papillomavirus viruses and don’t seem to get warts as easily as other people but for those who are more susceptible, even biting your nails can also cause warts to spread on your fingertips and around your nails. Those small cauliflower-like papules seen on people?s fingers, especially around the cuticle area are the common wart and these usually appear to have small dark specks in them which are blood vessels.
The flat wart is much smoother than a common wart and may be tan colored with a smoother surface; these tend to congregate on the legs, arms or face and in more sever cases the person may have hundreds. Warts found in the ano-genital area can also be flesh colored, also gray but these might be shiny and have the cauliflower appearance as well; they like damp areas and this is why they can be found inside the vagina and even the urethra.
It is quite common for warts to disappear on their own although it cab take years for this to happen or as short as a few months, but some warts are stubborn and require additional treatment. The most common type of treatment involves salicylic acid which is readily available at drugstores and supermarkets but remember that removing a wart with salicylic acid requires a strict regimen of cleaning the area, applying the acid, and removing the dead skin with a pumice stone or emery board.
