Coping With Infertility
Sometimes fertility treatment doesn’t work and you may need time to recover physically and emotionally before thinking about tying again. Many factors are involved in the reason for infertility, and you need to see a doctor to have those problems diagnosed. It is just as important to know which partner has the problem as it is to know what the couple can do about it when they see an infertility specialist. In the USA, infertility has become a major social problem with estimates indicating that approximately one in nine couples have no children because of the problem.
Normally, most couples will wait for year and if the woman hasn’t been able to conceive after that time an appointment will be made to see the doctor and both partners will have a full medical to try and find the reason for the infertility.
Unfortunately, many older women listen to the wrong advice and often get into a mental mindset where they fully believe they will not conceive because of their age. It is often this mental block that sabotages any attempts for the couple to cure their infertility problem.
Coping With Infertility...
There are occasions where women who have already had one child find they cannot get pregnant again even after trying for a year and this is called Secondary Infertility. For many males, it is the sperm that is causing the infertility problem. The reason for this is, according to clinical evidence, that some men have high levels of oxidative stress and this causes a problem with their sperm quality. Researchers recommend that treatment for infertile men should include strategies to reduce oxidative stress and improve sperm quality.
Your chances of improving your fertility can also be enhanced by taking natural vitamins and minerals even if you are having other medical treatment as it won’t cause any damage and a healthy body is a good starting place for fertility improvement. Another aspect to this is the cost, as staying healthy and improving your chances of fertility with vitamins and other supplements compared to that of infertility treatment, and medical procedures, is low in contrast. Acupuncture has also been known to work for infertility by increasing the production of endorphins or brain chemicals that help to reduce stress.
Fertility treatment isn’t always covered by your medical insurance although you could claim that it is a necessary and legitimate medical procedure. If your insurance company just won’t cover it, the good news is that infertility treatment, like most medical procedures is tax-deductible.
