Many suspect that silicone can lead to higher occurrences of connective tissue disease, immunological disorders, neurological disorders, cancer, and capsular contracture if the implant were to rupture and the silicone material were to circulate with the person’s bloodstream. This is a subject that any person, male or female, having an implant must face whether it is silicone or saline.

Although breast implants are made to be strong and stable, there are instances where they can break and the filler material contained within the implant may leak and circulate through the body. If a rupture were to occur, a saline breast would deflate and the saline held within the implant would harmlessly absorb within the body.
