Forced Breast Implants

Cosmetic surgery is now something that can be done during your weekend and back to work on a Monday morning with a new nip or tuck but still one of the most popular type of cosmetic enhancement is that of breast surgery. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with being self critical of your appearance but when it affects your self-esteem and a relatively routine procedure will change this then what woman is going to refuse a breast augmentation operation.

Cosmetic breast surgery is now so routine a procedure that it can be completed in less than one ad a half hours under general anesthetic but it?s correct medical term is augmentation mammoplasty. A small incision will be made in the crease of the underside of the breast, the armpit or lower edge of the areola however, your Cosmetic Surgeon will advise you on the most appropriate procedure for you as there are currently two different types of implant available.

The most common type of implant is made from silicone and the second most common element on the planet, which provides the breast with a natural feel. The FDA approved the use of silicone many years ago and it is now has other applications regarding implants on people like joints and the face for instance.

The other type of breast implants contain saline which is naturally occurring in the body and of course is much safer as it is only salt water which just happens to be the main make-up of our bodies. A saline breast implant is used in a cosmetic breast augmentation to enhance the size and shape of a person’s breast tissue and the implant varies based on what it is made out of.

The use of silicone, despite assurances of safety by the manufacturers and the FDA, concern some people regarding a number of situations where the sacks have ruptured and the silicone has leaked into the body and blood causing problems with the immune system and other disorders including cancer and neurological. This is a subject that any person, male or female, having an implant must face whether it is silicone or saline.

The manufacturers make these implants as resilient as possible whilst retaining some sense of reality for the wearer but the concerns about silicone entering the bloodstream is a real concern. Saline implants on the other hand have contents that are easily absorbed by the body and cannot cause any harm whether entering the cells or bloodstream.

There are always risks with any type of surgery and breast augmentation surgery is no different, however it is now considered a routine procedure where almost all of the risks have been eliminated. To find out more you need to speak with your cosmetic surgeon but it is often the case that speaking to other breast surgery patients about their experiences will help more.

Obviously, anyone that has already undergone breast augmentation surgery will be able to provide every detail and answer questions about what can be expected at every stage.
