Cellulites
Although not the problem it once was, Cellulites still causes distress to many women who have additional fat in the tissues of their thighs, buttocks and stomach. However, men can suffer with cellulites as well and are often seen as patches lighter then the surrounding skin. Normally, with good circulation, a person will have smooth skin layers, but when there is fluid in the layers, the stored fats, and other chemical toxins do not get flushed out of the system and become trapped within the skin. Over time this fatty tissue hardens and produces what we call cellulites easily identified as those areas giving an ?orange peel? effect to the skin.
The appearance of the cellulites will depend upon each person?s genetics, their lifestyle and the weight of the individual, all of which are factors in cellulite formation. Strangely there are different types of cellulites and being overweight is only one of the causes of cellulite as active and fit women can also suffer and it is found in the muscles of active women such as dancers and athletes. The hard cellulites attach themselves directly to the muscle tissue and are the hardest to remove. The easier cellulites to see are the soft type and whilst they are more unsightly as they may appear to hang from the skin and affect larger muscle areas, they are considerably easier to remove.
For women, who are he most likely candidates for cellulites, their appearance can start from as early as 14 years of age and will gradually get worse as they age Often, cellulites occur because a woman has started taking the contraceptive pill or has just given birth and even people who have suffered from injuries can develop cellulites.
Cellulites...
Exercise and diet are still almost uniformly believed to be the best way to eradicate cellulites because exercise is particularly effective at improving the circulation and usually helps reduce the appearance of the cellulites. Although all types exercise can help, it is the diet that needs to be more specific; one that is detoxifying and contains plenty of fruit and vegetables. Coffee and soft drinks should be avoided where possible but wholegrain foods are definitely recommended.
Although so far unproven, it is considered by some that spicy foods may also help contribute to the formation of cellulites. However, the same cannot be said for smoking and alcohol which should be avoided as both help in the build-up of toxins in the body. Although cellulites are not necessarily formed by a high fat diet fat is difficult to flush out of the system and can contribute to the cellulites formation so a low-fat diet is preferable.
Proprietary cellulite creams are often successful in the treatment and prevention of cellulites but presently they cannot completely eradicate the tissues. By using alpha-hydroxyl acid cream, the cellulites are made to look as if they have disappeared by making the skin more elastic whereas all the cream has done is mask the cellulites. Water therapy is also proving to be effective because it seems to make cellulites become less visible as it removes toxins in the body as well as fat and also aids in proper digestion and blood circulation.
