Acne On The Back And Chest

Many people find it hard to believe that you can suffer with acne at any age and do not have to be a teenager. Whilst it is true that acne will often become apparent during the formative years, many people do in fact find it a temporary condition although as many as nine in every ten people will suffer with at some point in their lives.

Whilst the naturally occurring oil we produce called sebum does in fact clog the hair follicles, it is not the only substance to blame for the condition of acne and neither is oily skin either. Acne is the result of the sebum in the pores and not the skin itself although the condition does seem to be a modern problem and not something we have always had to live with.

Clogged pores can also be caused by things like makeup, atmospheric pollution and the reason more young people seem to suffer with it, hormone adjustments but at least it is a treatable condition. Other causes that have been discovered are the reprocessed foods we eat and the high level of sugars that re contained in almost everything we consume.

Acne On The Back And Chest...

Sometimes when acne is difficult to cure, a dermatologist will suggest a different type of medication which is more effective but may require more time to work. Having a dermatologist treat the condition is not such a bad idea as he or she will be able to better check on how well the treatment is he prescribed. The fingernails are the acne sufferer?s biggest problem as bacteria can cause further infection of the already sensitive area so it is important that the acne is not aggravated any further.

This means that fingernails need to be kept clean and not dismissed because they look clean as almost all bacteria and germs are invisible to the naked human eye. Therefore any contact between an acne sufferer?s hands and affected areas should be avoided if possible.

With ninety percent of people having acne at some stage in their life it is easy to see people with perfect skin are rare and current studies are now indicating that acne may well be hereditary. The most likely scenario is that you will contact acne while you are young probably around puberty.

Acne can cause emotional problems for sufferers, especially when they are young so it is advisable that the opinion of a dermatologist be sought for further treatment.
